Alright ladies, listen up because we’ve got to make this bachelorette party a banging success. We want the bridal party, friend group, best friend, and family members to leave with abs that hurt from laughing too much, and too many good memories to ever forget the day.
A big ask – I know.
Picture it now: lounging by the water, sipping on fruity cocktails, and soaking up the sun with the brides’ besties. There’s something about being in a pool that just screams celebration and relaxation all at once. We get the best of both worlds.
Now, I know what you might be thinking. “But won’t it be too tame for a bachelorette?” Au contraire, my friends. With the right decorations, games, and music, you can make your bachelorette pool party a day to remember. Plus, it’s a perfect opportunity to show off those cute swimsuits you’ve been eyeing all season long.
So, if you’re ready to add some splash to your bachelorette festivities, grab your girls, put on some sunscreen, and let’s dive into the world of bachelorette pool party games!
Why Pool Parties Are Great For Bachelorettes
Bachelorette parties by the pool are equal parts relaxing and fun. Pick your vibe – music festival complete with live music, boho chic with barbeque, custom plastic cups, and an oversized beach ball, or channel Barbados bougie, with oversized hats and sleek swimwear.
What a fantastic way to come together and celebrate. The good news is, with some prior planning and little creativity we can have a whopper day that doesn’t break the bank.
Ideal for Warm Weather
A summer bachelorette party by the pool is a perfect way to beat the heat while enjoying the company of your friends. Enjoy some quality time in the sun, play fun party games, relax on floats, and just have fun.
Pool parties are becoming increasingly popular for bachelorettes because they offer so much entertainment without having to leave your home/the hotel/the Airbnb – everything you need is right at hand!
Versatile
Whether you’re looking to lounge in the sun, sip cocktails, or dance to music, a pool party can be as low-key or high-energy as you want it to be. When it comes to creating a memorable experience, all you really need are a few great ideas.
From inflatable pool floats to beach-themed decorations, there’s something for any budget. As far as activities go, there are plenty of options too; from swimming races and relay games to limbo contests and freeze dance competitions.
Even if you don’t want to plan out specific games ahead of time, simply tossing around a volleyball, playing marco polo, or floating with drinks can make for an enjoyable afternoon by the water. But obviously, you do, or you wouldn’t be here. Read on for games galore.
Affordable
A pool party can be a budget-friendly option compared to other activities. The bachelorette industry is making bank. Hour-long activities can cost upwards of $50 per person and in this economy, we really don’t need to be wasting money.
Add to that the cost of drinks in a bar, transport, and meals out and it’s easy to see why pool parties are a great option for bachelorettes.
With that said, why not give your guests something special like personalized party favors, or even create custom drink containers, with the money saved? These little touches will help ensure that everyone has fond memories of this special occasion long after it’s over!
Photo Opportunities
The natural lighting and beautiful scenery at a pool party make for some great photo opportunities, capturing memories that you’ll cherish for years to come. Let your inner insta-hun come out and stage a group shoot to add to the ‘gram.
Overall, a pool party provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable bachelorette party. So grab your swimsuit, your sun hat, and your besties, and get ready for a celebration you’ll never forget!
Bachelorette Games for Beside the Pool
Not all games need to be in the pool, and let’s face it we shouldn’t be in the water if we’ve drank too much so it’s good to have a few bachelorette party game ideas that allow us to play poolside.
Here are some of the most popular bachelorette party games.
Bachelorette Party Card Games
Not everybody knows each other at a bachelorette, so it’s easy to see how some might feel a bit awkward. Card games are a good idea at the beginning of the day to break the ice, have a good laugh and make sure every party member relaxes and feels included.
Plus, they only cost $20-30 on Amazon, can provide endless entertainment, and can be kept for the next bride-to-be.

Printable Bachelorette Party Games
Not all games need to have 1,000 pieces and warrant 25 minutes trying to figure out the rules. Simple, printable games can be just as fun. Create them yourself, buy them on Etsy, or even just print a list of questions about the bride.
Play them whenever you feel like it, or keep them for the bridal shower. It’s super easy to personalize them with the bride-to-be’s details.

Bachelorette Activities
And of course, we don’t need to spend the whole day sitting in a circle asking questions. We want movement, action, and activity. Set up a few game stations around the pool, casino style. Huge Jenga to the left, prosecco pong to the right, shot roulette down the back, past pin the junk on the hunk.

Bachelorette Pool Party Ideas for in the Pool
Bride Tribe unite… The options are limitless for bachelorette games that can be played in the pool. You’ll probably need a few props, but will likely find them at home, be able to borrow from a friend, or with a bit of searching find them in a thrift store.
If you plan it right, you should be able to use the props for multiple games. With a little creativity you can make the best bachelorette party games that create unforgettable memories.
So grab your bathing suit, dive in and let the good times roll.
Crocodile Hunter
Get ready to go south. Way south to the land of wizards and alligators. Crocodile Hunter is sure to be a blast at any bachelorette party – just watch your fingers (they bite). A fun game, full of danger, that will bring lots of laughs and plenty of competition amongst friends as they battle against each other.
What You’ll Need:
Hula hoops (1 per player)
Inflatable crocodiles (1 per team)
How to Play:
Ensure all teams are in the pool, against the walls, with their hula hoop in hand. Inflate the beasts and release them into the wild ( read: float the inflatable crocodiles in to the middle of the water).
The object of the game is to outsmart the animal. Hunt, and catch the crocodile with the hula hoop. Once someone on the team has caught it, they must risk their lives and wrangle it to the deep end, climb onto its back and race by paddling to the shallow end.
Those who have completed the mission then throw the crocodile back into the middle of the pool for the next pair to start hunting. They can have a drink knowing they’ve escaped death and take pictures (because we all know they’ll be hilarious).
The first team fully out of the pool wins.
Duck Push
Someone always takes the competition too seriously, and that just adds to the hilarity of this game. Duck push is a race so the tension is high, but they’re cute rubber ducks so watching people panic and stress over something so cute makes it one of my favorite pool party games.
It’s super cheap (you can by the ducks for like $10 on amazon), and involves no set up so it’s one of the more popular games amongst the organizers.
What You’ll Need:
- Rubber ducks (one per player)
- Optional: Pool Noodles or Floats
How to Play:
To get started, divide your party guests into teams (the more teams the harder it is). Each team lines up at one side of the pool with their duck floating in front of them.
The goal of the game is for each team to move the duck across the other side of the pool without using their hands.
Use your nose, blow them, jump up and down to make waves – whatever it takes. Other team members can use the time to foil the other teams strategy. Splash, shout, distract, but they’re not allowed use their hands either.
If everyone is in the pool at the same time, the first one is the winner. If it’s being played in teams, the current player needs to climb out of the pool, run back to the start and tag the next player in. You can add some difficulty by having contestants use a pool noodle or float to slow them down. Bonus points for the most ingenious technique.
No matter how you decide to play Duck Push, it’s sure to be a hit at your next bachelorette party! Have fun and remember – always keep safety top of mind when playing in a swimming pool.
Number Crunch
Teamwork makes the dream work, and number crunch gets your guests working together to win the title. It requires very little equipment and can be played in any private pool.
What You’ll Need:
- Ping pong balls in two colors (at least 25 to 30 balls per team)
- Two plastic buckets
How to Play:
Split people into two teams. Float the buckets, one at either end of the pool for each team, and set a timer. 3minutes, 5 minutes, whatever you think is fair.
The rules are simple. Each team must collect as many balls as possible and put them into their team bucket. Only one ball can be deposited at a time (no cheating). Whoever has the most balls when the timer goes off, wins.
Scavenger Dive
A scavenger dive is a great way to get your bachelorette pool party going. It’s the perfect activity for all ages and skill levels (as long as everyone can swim), so you don’t have to worry about leaving anyone out. All you need is a bathing suit, some swimmers, and a few small items that will sink.
What You’ll Need:
A variety of small items that will sink.
How to Play:
Split into teams or play individually. To start off the game, drop the items and wait for them to reach the bottom of the pool. Each player jumps into the pool and dives to the bottom to find the objects that have been hidden there.
Spice it up by having a collection of each item, so each team or person has to find a collection of things. The team with all the items, or a full collection, first wins.
It may sound like hard work but trust us when we say this game will have everyone laughing before long! As well as being great fun for those taking part, it also provides plenty of entertainment for onlookers too – who wouldn’t love watching people trying to complete silly tasks underwater? So why not give this classic bachelorette party activity a try at your next event?
Hungry Hippos
Hungry hippos is something all generations will know. Sitting on the living room floor desperately trying to beat your opponents. By far, it’s the best game for side splitting laughter. We need co-ordination, a competitive nature, and a good sense of humor for this one but it’s more than worth it.
What You’ll Need:
Ball pit balls (or a large number of balls/items that float)
Plastic buckets
How to Play:
Pair up or give everyone a float depending on numbers. Spread the balls out throughout the pool.
Lie, face down on the floaty and when the game begins each person must gather as many balls as possible and return them to their bucket. If playing in pairs, someone can move and guide the person on the float around the pool by their ankles. Set a time limit or play until all the balls are collected.
The person/team with the most balls wins.
Inflatable Toss
It’s giving… childhood fun. Make it a competition, a drinking game, or just a fun activity. The inflatable toss game is something anyone, at any age or level of athleticism, can play. And you don’t even need to get into the pool, so those who don’t want to get their hair wet don’t have to fear.
What You’ll Need:
A pool inflatable toss game or inflatables with a vertical aspect (think flamingos, unicorns etc)
Hula hoops (if not buying the game).
How to Play:
Float your inflatables on the pool and have people or teams standing on either side of the pool. The object of the game is simple. Try to get as many hoops onto the floats as possible.
The person with the most successful tosses wins.
Floating Musical Chairs
Everyone knows how to play so it’s the perfect game to get everyone involved. There’s no time lost explaining the rules but everyone is on floats rather than chairs which adds to the madness.
What You’ll Need:
Floats for everyone playing
Music device of some form
How to Play:
Everybody should have a float to start the game. Float them out across the water (minus 1) and play music. If everyone wants to play it’s probably best for the maid of honor to control the music.
When the music is stopped players need to get up on a float. Obviously, one person will be left without a float and they’re out of the game. Return all the floats to the centre of the pool and remove a float. There should always be one less than there are players.
Repeat until there are two left circling one float. The last person on the float wins.
Float Balancing
Float balancing is a fun bachelorette party game that’s not overly taxing and anyone can play. It’s simple, easy to understand and can be tailored for any size guest list. Just remember to stay safe. Don’t have too many in the pool competing at the same time to limit the occurence of injury.
What You’ll Need:
How to Play:
Break the group into teams. The same number of teams as there are floats. One person from each team competes at a time.
The rules are simple. Each competitor must follow a set of tasks while floating on the board. Kneel down, stand up, turn around, jump, stand on one leg. The options are endless. The last one standing is the winner.
The winners of each round compete until there is a single winner.
Tug Of War
A classic game, we all know it, we all think we could win – but not everybody can. Not recommended for anyone who couldn’t handle a fall into the water, or pregnant guests but they will still have a great laugh as they cheer from the sidelines.
What You’ll Need:
A rope long enough to reach both sides of the pool and for a number of people to hold at either side.
How to Play:
To set up the game, divide group into two teams and have them stand on opposite sides of the pool alongside the rope that crosses is. Make sure there’s enough space between team members so they don’t accidentally hit each other while tugging!
We all know the rules. The team pull and tug until the other team is pulled forward. Only in this instance, the losing team lands smack bang in the pool.
Human Ring Toss
I couldn’t not include it. It’s super simple to play and way too much fun.
What You’ll Need:
Pool noodles (two to create each ring)
How to Play:
You will need to make your rings first. Tape, or glue two pool noodles together to form a ring. Create as many as you deem necessary.
Split the group into teams, and have one team climb into the pool and stand at varying spots around the pool. The other team(s) stand at the side of the pool. The aim of the game is to throw the pool noodle rings around the people in the pool.
The further away the people in the pool are from those throwing, the more points they score. When all the rings are thrown, add up the teams points and swap places. If there are more than two teams, cycle them so everybody gets a turn in the pool, and a turn throwing.
The team with the most points by the end, wins.
Conclusion
Pool party bachelorette’s just set my imagination on fire. I love them. I live for them. There are so many different themes you can create around a pool day. Everything is contained in one place so there’s less stress, there are loads of DIY aspects you can create to personalize it, and they’re private.
Whether you’ve opted to book a hotel room for the guests and build in a spa day, or an entire AirBnb full of activities, no one is leaving without having a good time.
Whatever you decide to do, it’ll be an epic day, without doubt. Have fun, make memories and remember, pics or it didn’t happen.
